Tom & Jerry (a terrific fall and winter drink!)
When the Brothers get together for some Christmas Cheer, the cold weather dictates hot drinks. This is the perfect Holiday gathering libation. Two ways to make these and several ways to modify. First and easiest method:
Step 1, go to your local Midwest grocery store and purchase locally prepared Tom & Jerry mix.
Step 2, Get a mug.
Step 3, put a heaping tablespoon (or two…) of T&J mix in the mug.
Step 4, add boiling water but leave enough room for at least a ½ gill (2 oz.) of one of our Bickering Brothers products: Some use BB Brandy, others use BB Whiskey while some of our most knowledgeable Brother Club members use Coyote 100. A mixture of Brandy and Coyote 100 is highly recommended. Brother Club members may actually use each option several times during Christmas season. With 24 days of Christmas there are 24 cold evenings!
Step 5, sprinkle with nutmeg when serving.
Step 6. Find your fire and enjoy! Now, for those of you who can’t find T&J mix at the grocery, or who like making great party drinks at home all artisan style, here is a from-scratch recipe. Only step one is different from above. Since we make it for our Brothers, and there are many of them, this is our normal sized recipe which you can reduce or increase as needed:
Ingredients:
- 12 eggs
- 1lb powdered sugar (you can substitute granular if necessary)
- 1tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp allspice
- nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Separate egg whites and reserve yolks. Whisk whites until stiff peaks form. In Separate bowl whisk yolks, slowly add sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and allspice. Fold in egg whites. Mix by hand until streaks are gone. See remaining steps above. Refrigerate unused T&J mix.
On the Rock - A classic!
2 oz of Bickering Brothers Brandy
One quality ice cube
One rock glass
Place ice cube in glass, pour Brandy over rock. Enjoy.
Brothers Alexander
2 oz of Bickering Brothers Brandy
2 oz of Crème de cacao
2 oz of fresh cream (half and half or whipping cream will also work)
Combine ingredients in a shaker (or large glass) with a few ice cubes, shake (or pour between two glasses) to mix and chill. Strain from ice. Garnish with nutmeg. Enjoy!
Brothers Coke
2 oz of Bickering Brothers Brandy.
Coke.
Pick your glass, and your ice.
Mix to your liking. Enjoy!
Brothers Hot Toddy
2 oz of Bickering Brothers Brandy
2 oz boiling water (really hot will do)
1 tsp honey
2 cloves, 1 cinnamon stick
Combine liquids, add spices. May also be garnished with a lemon slice.
Sip and Enjoy as you forget about the cold outside!
